It’s a relief to me to see people like Barbara Barrigan-Parilla on the case for protecting the Delta. In a way she is the Delta’s Lorax more than it’s bulldog as is the comparison made in this CVBT report. I only know about CVBT because I happened to be walking my dog when the editor asked if he could tape my perspective on life in the Delta.
As you might imagine, I’m not in favor of killing the golden goose Delta so that a few fat cats can have the fresh water for the short period of time that it remains fresh. I’m not opposed to salt water but it doesn’t do anyone any good inland, and that’s where it is headed. Happens everytime there is a drought. And so So. Cal will be creating an artificial drought on top of the real one. I say this as I watch the sky do it’s best to rain.
The April 4 meeting to brainstorm ideas for the Delta in Sacramento has become so large that the venue has changed. Check Aquafornia.com for more information.
